Plain-language details about what Fareld handles and the choices you have.

Legal · Terms · Privacy · Netiquette · Support · Delete account

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Fareld collects, uses, discloses, stores, and deletes personal information in the mobile and web app. Randy Fust, 27 Capehart Dr., Orlando, FL 32807, USA, is the service operator and data controller where that term applies.

2. Information you provide

We collect your email address, password credential through Supabase Auth, display name, photos, captions, challenge completion records, achievements, optional 1–5 star ratings, reports, blocks, support messages, and account-deletion requests. Passwords are handled by Supabase and are not visible to Fareld.

3. Device permissions and technical data

Fareld requests camera or photo-library access only when you choose to capture or select a photo. The app does not request precise location, contacts, microphone, or advertising-tracking permission. Service providers may process IP address, device and operating-system information, timestamps, request identifiers, crash information, and security logs needed to deliver and protect the service.

4. Photo and moderation processing

A selected image and caption are sent through Fareld’s backend to OpenAI for automated safety classification before public sharing. Approved photos are stored privately in Supabase and displayed through short-lived links. Rejected photos are discarded. Uncertain photos remain private for trusted safety review and are never sent to community raters.

5. How we use information

We use information to authenticate users; deliver the daily challenge; store journals; calculate streaks and achievements; moderate and display submissions; provide optional ratings, reports, and blocks; prevent fraud and abuse; troubleshoot; secure and improve the service; respond to requests; enforce our Terms; and meet legal obligations.

6. Legal bases

Where GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar law applies, processing is based on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing Fareld, consent where requested, and compliance with law. You may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. We do not use uploaded photos for advertising.

7. When information is disclosed

Information is disclosed to Supabase, which provides authentication, database, Edge Functions, and private storage; OpenAI, which provides automated photo and text safety moderation; professional advisers and vendors bound to protect it; authorities when legally required or necessary to protect rights and safety; and a successor in a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale. Other users can see your display name, approved photo, caption, challenge, date, and aggregate rating. They cannot see your email.

8. Sales, sharing, and advertising

Fareld does not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use targeted advertising. Fareld currently has no ads and does not access the iOS advertising identifier or request Android advertising ID permission.

9. International transfers

Supabase, OpenAI, and other providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on recognized safeguards such as adequacy decisions, contractual protections, or Standard Contractual Clauses.

10. Retention

Account information remains while your account is active. Approved and review-pending submissions remain until deleted or resolved. Rejected image files are discarded. Ratings, reports, blocks, achievements, and completion history remain while needed to operate the account. Deleting a photo preserves earned completion and achievement history. Account deletion removes associated active records and files; limited backups, security logs, fraud-prevention records, and legally required records may remain for a restricted period before deletion or anonymization.

11. Your choices and rights

You can edit your display name, delete photos, block users, and delete your account in Settings. Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection; withdraw consent; appeal a refusal; opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling; and lodge a complaint with a privacy regulator. Fareld does not sell or share data for targeted advertising, so no opt-out is currently necessary. We will verify requests and respond within the period required by law.

12. Children

Fareld is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information. A higher minimum age applies where local law requires it. If you believe a child provided information without valid authorization, contact us and we will investigate and delete it as required.

13. Security

Fareld uses verified accounts, encrypted network connections, operating-system protected session storage, private object storage, short-lived photo links, row-level security, restricted server functions, rate limits, metadata stripping, moderation, and account controls. No system is perfectly secure, and users should protect their password and device.

14. Automated decisions

Automated moderation may approve, reject, or privately hold a submission based on safety categories. It does not make legal, employment, credit, housing, insurance, or similarly significant decisions. Contact us if you believe moderation made a mistake. Explicit sexual material is rejected rather than shown to community reviewers.

15. Policy changes

We may update this policy when practices, providers, or laws change. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email when required. The effective date identifies the current version.

16. Contact

Privacy questions and rights requests can be sent to randyfust@gmail.com or mailed to Randy Fust, 27 Capehart Dr., Orlando, FL 32807, USA. If your jurisdiction requires a data-protection representative or regulator contact, we will provide the applicable details before offering the service there.
