Show up for yourself

Fareld works best when the photo comes from your own day. A picture pulled from Google might sometimes slip past a check, but it can violate someone else’s rights and only cheats you out of the point: noticing your own world.

Interpret before you optimize

There is no secret perfect answer. Let the prompt mean something personal, funny, literal, poetic, tiny, or unexpected. A doorstep-sized adventure counts just as much as a dramatic landscape.

Rate the fit, not the photographer

Stars should reflect how thoughtfully the image responds to the challenge. They are not a score for camera quality, expensive travel, attractiveness, popularity, or how closely someone’s life resembles yours.

Be generous with difference

People participate with different bodies, schedules, weather, neighborhoods, cultures, resources, and comfort levels. Celebrate creative adaptations. Do not assume that your version of a challenge is the only valid one.

Leave room for beginners

A rushed first photo can still represent someone choosing to participate. Save one-star ratings for submissions that truly miss the challenge; do not use them simply because an image is ordinary or imperfect.

Captions add context, not pressure

A caption can share what caught your attention, but nobody owes the community a personal story. Keep captions brief, relevant, and free of private details about yourself or other people.

Notice without exposing

Before posting, look for faces, addresses, school or workplace details, license plates, documents, reflections, and location clues. A beautiful moment is still worth protecting.

Assume good faith

An unusual interpretation is not proof of cheating. If something merely feels off-topic, rate it honestly and move on. Use reporting for safety, privacy, spam, or serious rule violations—not disagreements in taste.

No detective squads

Do not investigate, identify, shame, or rally others against a person. Reports are private so trusted reviewers can assess them without public dogpiling.

Don’t game the room

Avoid rating swaps, coordinated scoring, duplicate accounts, or attempts to manufacture popularity. Community ratings are a way to surface resonant moments, not a contest to win.

Protect the mood

Fareld should feel like a warm pause in the day. Bring curiosity, humor, patience, and encouragement. If you are irritated, competitive, or looking for a fight, it is okay to skip rating and come back later.

Know when to disengage

Blocking is a healthy boundary, not a punishment. You never need to interact with a submission or account that makes your experience worse. Report urgent concerns and then step away.

Help the culture evolve
